INDIANAPOLIS–A person was killed after being hit by a car on the west side of Indianapolis Monday morning.
IMPD says the crash happened around 5:40 near Dancer’s Show Club on West Washington Street. That is near S. Girls School Road, north of the Indianapolis International Airport, and west of I-465.
When police got to the scene, they found one person dead. Police believe that person may have been walking when the driver hit them. They believe the driver who hit the person stayed at the scene to cooperate with police, but another driver sped off.
Multiple other crashes happened as a result of this fatal one, says IMPD.
One of the drivers was also hurt. That driver had to be taken to a hospital.
They are trying to figure out what caused the crash.
