FRANKFORT, Ind.–Police in Frankfort say a man forced a 6-year-old girl to leave her home, but she was able to escape and get back home. They are trying to find the man responsible.

On Thursday afternoon, Frankfort police released a video of a dark-colored car turning around at an intersection. They want to talk to the driver of that car.

The girl told police a man forced her to go nearly a block from her house, which is in the area of East Walnut and South East streets around 11:15 a.m. Thursday. She escaped and ran back to her house. Once she returned, her mother called the police.

The girl said the man was black, at least 6 feet tall, thin and clean-shaven, and was wearing shorts and a T-shirt.

“While we have checked every house with an apparent surveillance camera or video doorbell, we ask that if anyone lives in a four-block radius of East and Walnut to check their system for any recordings. You are urged to report any information to Central Dispatch at 654-4431 or 911. They will relay it to our investigations division,” said Frankfort Police in a Facebook post Thursday.
