PLAINFIELD, Ind.—The man who sped away from cops and crashed his car Saturday afternoon, has been identified as Dominique Jackson, 32.
A news release from Plainfield Police says officers had responded to a call about a possible drunk driver about 1:20 p.m. When they caught up with the car it was swerving. They pulled it over on U.S. 40 at Catersburg Rd.
Officers noticed fresh paint, likely from another car, and ordered Jackson out, suspecting a hit and run.
Jackson hit the gas.
The chase ended in Putnam County on U.S. 40, when Jackson crashed and died.
State police are investigating and have already finished reconstructing the wreck.
