STATEWIDE–You’ll probably be relying on the air conditioning a lot this week. The National Weather Service believes high temperatures will be hovering around 90 throughout Indiana.

“We could have heat indices up to near 100 on Tuesday and then between 100 and 105 on Wednesday,” said Chad Swain, meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Indianapolis.

Swain says highs will get into the middle or upper 90s on Tuesday and that carries over into Wednesday. There are storm chances on Wednesday too.

“There is a chance for a few thunderstorms on Wednesday afternoon. Some of those could be strong. Then it dries out after that,” said Swain.

Swain urges you to drink plenty of water, limit outdoor activities, take frequent breaks if you’re working outdoors, and keep your pets cool.

“You should also never ever leave anyone in a hot car,” said Swain.
