GREENWOOD, Ind. – Greenwood police are investigating a fatal hit and run that happened Wednesday night.
Around 11:45 p.m., officers were called to the 500 block on North State Road 135. That’s just north of the SR 135 and Fry Road intersection, and west of the Greenwood Park Mall.
Police say Andrew Bankert, 23, of Greenwood, was found dead at the scene. Investigators believe he is the victim of a hit and run.
Greenwood police have identified the suspect vehicle. They say it was an older black Chevy Trailblazer with extensive front end damage.
