WHITESTOWN, Ind. — Another racing team is building a new facility in Whitestown.
McLaren Racing, based in the United Kingdom with its Formula One operation, is spending $25 million to build a new facility for its IndyCar team Arrow McLaren SP. The project is expected to create around 175 jobs as well.
“I am delighted to be able to confirm this news today as part of our long-term strategy for Arrow McLaren SP is to relocate the team to a new facility fit for the future,” said Zak Brown, McLaren Racing CEO.
“This is both a clear sign of our commitment to IndyCar and also to the community of Whitestown, the city of Indianapolis, and the state of Indiana, which has been the home of IndyCar since the sport began.”
Arrow McLaren SP will be joining Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing in Whitestown. RLL’s new facility is due to open later this year.
Brown also confirmed that the investment will allow the team to run three full-time cars in the NTT IndyCar Series in the 2023 season. The team only runs two full-time entries at the moment with Pato O’Ward and Felix Rosenqvist. Juan Pablo Montoya will be running a third, one-off entry in the Indianapolis 500 this year for the team.

The new facility will be up and running by early 2024.
