PALMYRA, Ind. — Two people were killed in a shooting involving a police officer and two other people trying to help a stopped driver in Harrison County.

It was late Monday evening at around 9:30 p.m.

A police officer came across a stopped SUV along State Road 135 just south of Palmyra. Justin Moore, 31, of Owensboro, Ky, was in the SUV when the officer began approaching.

At this point, two other people stopped to offer help. That’s when State Police say shots were fired. They aren’t saying by who yet, but Moore was killed as was one of the people who stopped to help, Tyler McClanahan, 24, of Corydon.

Troopers have a lot to figure out before they say anything further.
