STATEWIDE-You can expect high temperatures to be in the 80s all week long across Indiana, according to the National Weather Service in Indianapolis.

There will also be wind gusts reaching between 20-30 mph at times on Monday and Tuesday.

“As we get later in the week, the ridge comes over and our wind gusts aren’t as bad, so Monday is the worst for winds. We’re not overly concerned about fires, but still, anytime we get high winds with warmer temperatures, we want to remind you that if you’re going to be outside burning anything, just keep it contained,” said Aaron Updike, meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Indianapolis.

Updike believes many places in Indiana will have temperatures consistently in the mid to upper 80s throughout the state from Tuesday through Friday.

“Eastern parts of the state might not be quite as warm, but for the most part, most of the state will be in the upper 80s. We’ll be approaching record-level temperatures for this time of year,” said Updike.

Outside of a small chance for an isolated storm on Wednesday, Updike doesn’t expect there to be the possibility of rain again until the weekend.
