NEWTON COUNTY, Ind. – A 26-year-old from Morocco, Indiana was arrested Wednesday for making threats towards the Indiana Supreme Court.

Indiana state Capitol Police began investigating the source of the threats in late February 2020.

Detectives were able to identify the suspect as Daivd Goetz II. Police say he sent threatening emails to the Justices at the Indiana Supreme Court. In addition to sending emails, Geotz was also calling the Supreme Court in April, leaving threatening voicemails when the calls went unanswered.

A warrant was later issued for Goetz’s arrest, and he was taken into custody on May 4. He was booked on two counts of intimidation.
