INDIANAPOLIS--A man was shot and killed at a gas station on the east side of Indianapolis Tuesday afternoon. Now, police think the shooter got away in a red Hummer that belonged to the victim.

IMPD says the man was shot around 1:30 pm Tuesday at a Citgo gas station on Rural Street. That is near the intersection of 21st Street and Massachusetts Avenue. They believe the suspect took off in the Hummer that had an Indiana license plate 680TBR.

The man who was shot was taken to a hospital with serious injuries and later died.

IMPD describes the suspect as being in his early 20s, from 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall, and wearing a blue “Adidas” hooded sweatshirt. They believe he was also wearing red and black shoes.

“Investigators believe that this homicide was a result of an armed carjacking/robbery,” said a release from IMPD on Tuesday.
