Attention Oscar-winning actor Will Smith smacked the wrong comedian’s momma.
Chris Rock’s mom, Rosalie “Rose” Rock, told South Carolina news station WIS-TV on Friday that “when Will slapped Chris, he slapped all of us,” adding, “But he really slapped me. Because when you hurt my child, you hurt me.”
Rosalie Rock was also asked in the interview what she’d like to tell Smith if she ever gets the chance.
“I have no idea what I would say other than, ‘What in the world were you thinking?'” said Rock. “Because you did a slap, but so many things could have happened from that. Chris could have stepped back and fallen, and you really could have gotten taken out in handcuffs. So, you didn’t think.”
Further pressed by the interviewer, Rose said Smith made wife Jada Pinkett Smith’s day when he attacked her son.
“Because [Jada] was mulled over laughing when it happened,” Rose said of Pinkett Smith’s reaction to the assault.
Rock said her son is still processing what happened at the Oscars with Smith. Apparently, he’s doing better than Amy Schumer, however, who is still recovering from the trauma of the event despite the fact that she was (regrettably) not assaulted at the event herself.
“I think it was traumatizing for all of us,” Schumer told Howard Stern earlier this month.
“All I can say is that it was really sad, and I think it says so much about toxic masculinity,” Schumer later added.
‘Toxic masculinity…’ Jada, any thoughts on that?
