President Biden tells transgender Americans he “sees you” in a recorded message posted on March 31st, Transgender Day of Visibility.
Biden is the first sitting US president to issue a proclamation in observance of Transgender Day of Visibility, which was first marked an international holiday in 2009.
“To everyone celebrating Transgender Day of Visibility, I want you to know that your president sees you. Our entire administration sees you for who you are — made in the image of God deserving of dignity, respect and support. But we know it’s hard when there are those out there that don’t see you and don’t respect you.”
In his message the president makes a point to call out all Republicans who are making efforts to criminalize gender-affirming care, outlaw LGBTQ+ discussions in schools, and banning trans students from participating on sports teams that align with their chosen gender.
Tony Katz is disgusted the president would openly support specifically the encouragement of trans children.
“Children can’t determine their own gender and if you think they can its child abuse. If you think they should have hormone therapy -you’re abusing children…We have the President of the United States actively condoning child abuse. This party is despicable.”
