INDIANAPOLIS – Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department is investigating multiple fatal accidents that occurred Friday morning. Another fatal wreck happened in Carmel.
Police were investigating a hit and run in the area of 21st Street, just east of Post Road. Sevion Sanford, 7, was killed when he was hit by two cars, the second of which killed him. The first car, a light-colored sedan, left the scene.
In Carmel a dump truck driver was killed Friday morning just after 6:30, when the truck left the road and ht a tree at 99th and Keystone Parkway. He was identified at Paul Powell, 51, of Kokomo. Police said he died at the scene, while his passenger had to be removed from the truck and was taken to the hospital. His injuries were described as minor.
IMPD Southwest district officers are currently on the scene in the 6600 block of Rockville Road on a report of another fatal incident. Police have confirmed that a teenager is dead as a result of the crash, and three others are currently in the hospital in stable condition.
Southeast district IMPD officers are also in the 7700 block of East Troy Avenue for a report of another fatal accident. An adult male is currently in critical condition, according to IMPD. Carol D. Miller, 59, was killed.
