FRANKLIN, Ind. – A 17-year-old Franklin High School student was killed in a single vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon, the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office said Wednesday.
Just after 3 p.m., Colton Leeper, 17, of Franklin, was driving northbound on Hurricane Road, north of Early Wood Drive on the Northeast side of Franklin. A witness driving behind Leeper told deputies that she saw his car cross the center line in front of her. Leeper tried to regain control of the car although while doing so left the roadway, causing the vehicle to roll over.
Emergency personnel said Leeper was taken to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis and died later Tuesday evening.
