STATEWIDE–Snow is supposed to return to Indiana Friday.

“We’ve got this front moving through Friday. It will start in far northwest Indiana with some light snow and continue slowly throughout the day. Snow rates, though, should be on the lower end,” said Aaron Updike, meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Indianapolis.

Updike says the entire state will get snow.

“Northwest Indiana will get about an inch or less. Areas around Indianapolis, Muncie, and Bloomington will get between an inch and two inches. East of that, areas could get anywhere between two and three inches,” said Updike.

The other thing to watch out for is bitter cold temperatures on both Friday and Saturday.

“We’ll have temperatures in the teens Friday night and Saturday morning, but there will also be higher winds. Wind chill values could be right around zero, so it will be really cold Saturday,” said Updike.

Then there is a significant shift starting Sunday.

“It will be a short-lived cold burst. Starting Sunday, we get a return of that nice southerly flow and temperatures will get back in to the 40s. Then we’ll see temperatures in the 60s and 70s several times next week,” said Updike.
