Marion County Prosecutor Ryan Mears held a press conference Tuesday to discuss the suspect who shot IMPD officer Tommy Mangan in the throat on Feb. 27.

The suspect, Mylik Hill, is facing two counts of attempted murder in addition to 8 more charges.  Each attempted murder charge could equate to 20-40 years in prison.

Hill is a repeat violent offender who was out on parole at the time he allegedly shot Officer Mangan.

The Fraternal Order of Police wants Mears to explain why Hill was released on bond despite his lengthy and violent criminal history.

When presented with questions at today’s press conference from FOP President Rick Snyder, however, Mears fled the room.
