There is a lot to process as more information about Russia’s invasion of Ukraine continues. It’s hard to find just the bullet points or even a rundown on why Russia is attacking Ukraine, what Putin is thinking, how we can help, and more. So, who would be a good person to ask these questions too? Maybe one of our elected US leaders?
During a morning radio program, The Morning Hustle with Headkrack & Lore’l , the hosts spoke to Vice President Kamala Harris. Like many Americans, they asked the VP to explain the Russian invasion of Ukraine in layman’s terms. Harris took the question very literal.
“Ukraine is a country in Europe. It exists next to another country called Russia. Russia is a bigger country. Russia is a powerful country. Russia decided to invade a smaller country called Ukraine. So, basically, that’s wrong.”
Now keep in mind this is an adult radio program broadcasting to presumably fellow adult Americans, not kindergarteners. Tony Katz says that it is clear this is just how she sees us.
“That’s the vice president of the Unite States thinking that is how she has to explain the situation to people…Is she that elitist? That’s how she views it. You’re the child and she’s spoon feeding you.”
