EAST CHICAGO, Ind. — An Indiana police officer has been found dead.
The officer’s body was found inside his patrol car, reports the Times of Northwest Indiana. The patrol car was parked outside of a Lake County courthouse in East Chicago, Indiana.
The body was found just after 4:30 Friday afternoon.
Lake County Sheriff Oscar Martinez says the 51-year-old officer was a long time veteran of the sheriff’s department. The officer’s identity and cause of death have not been released.
