INDIANAPOLIS — Carmel Police arrested 40-year-old Christopher Claerbout on charges of murder, criminal confinement, domestic battery, and auto theft.

Officers were called to the 3500 block of Rolling Springs Drive, which is just northeast of 106th Street and Keystone Avenue, around 6 p.m. Monday. They were responding to assist the fire department with a medical call.

Police found 75-year-old David Clearbout outside the home dead. Officers say he was stabbed multiple times. A woman who had been severely battered was also found inside the home.

Officers were able to track down Christopher Clearbout and deactivate his car using OnStar. He then tried to flee on foot, but with the help of a K9, officers were able to make the arrest. Christopher is the adult son of the two victims.
