RICHLAND CITY, Ind. — A man shot his adult son during an argument in southern Indiana over the weekend.

It was Saturday evening a little after 6:00 in the small town of Richland City in Spencer County. State police say they were called about a shooting.

They arrived at a home to find Justin Blair, 40, alive but badly wounded from a gunshot, that came from his father’s gun.

Troopers say Justin and his Dad, Michael Blair, had been arguing that evening.

“Preliminary investigation revealed that an altercation between Justin Blair and his father Michael had occurred and that Michel had shot Justin,” said Sgt. David Henderson.

Things escalated leading Michael Blair to shoot his son in the stomach. The 70-year-old was arrested and taken to jail once state troopers assessed the situation.

Justin Blair is in an Evansville hospital recovering. No word yet on his condition.
