New Colts defensive coordinator Gus Bradley will take over for the now departed Matt Eberflus and inherits a defense that had the second-most turnovers in the league, tied for 8th in total points per game, 10th in rushing yards allowed per game and in the middle of the pack of a lot of other defensive categories.  His goal will be to not only maintain those stats but build on them.  Colts team reporter Larra Overton sat down with the new Colts DC and joined Tuesday’s edition of Kevin & Query to discuss her conversation with him and what fans should expect to see next season.

“He strikes that balance of having that type of personality and dynamic of a head coach and that will complement the foundation he’s inheriting from Matt Eberflus and this defense and allow for him to evolve that defense and grow and develop it further.” – Larra Overton

Bradley also spoke with former Colts quarterback Philip Rivers about the dynamic within the organization and why Indy felt like the right fit.  The conversation also covered how Frank Reich and Gus Bradley came to know each other, how much different the defense will look next season, the schematic difference between Bradley and Eberflus and if the hiring of a new defensive line coach is the most important hiring on a revamped defensive coaching staff.  The conversation also touched on the off-season plans going forward as well as some more potential changes coming to the Colts with decisions looming for T.Y. Hilton and Jack Doyle.
