Indiana Gov. Eric Holcomb has renewed the COVID-19 public health emergency for the 23rd time through March 4th.

Holcomb had previously committed to ending the public health emergency in the future.

The state has been under the COVID-19 public health emergency declaration for nearly two years, since it was first issued back on March 6, 2020.

The governor signed an additional executive order Tuesday that extends a provision that allows students to serve as healthcare workers under a temporary license. It also allows more individuals to administer COVID-19 vaccinations.

Both orders can be extended in 30-day increments at a time under Indiana state law.
