Indianapolis – Former Colts Defensive Coordinator went to the Chicago Bears and brought just about everyone with him.
New Bears coach Matt Eberflus is working on bringing Colts defensive coaches Alan Williams, Dave Borgonzi, James Rowe and David Overstreet to Chicago with him, per sources.

All those names, combined with the departure of DL Coach Brian Baker means that the Colts next DC will come from outside the building and the list of candidates is long.
The Colts will interview on Monday and Tuesday for DC:
– Gus Bradley, defensive coordinator, Raiders
– Joe Whitt, Jr., secondary coach, Cowboys
– Kris Richard, DBs coach, Saints

There is one name however, that has experience as a Head Coach and Defensive Coordinator and worked with Frank Reich while coordinating a Super Bowl winning defense in Philadelphia: Jim Schwartz.
The #Colts plan to interview #Titans senior defensive assistant Jim Schwartz for their vacant defensive coordinator job, sources say. The former #Lions HC and long-time respected DC is a strong candidate in Indy, which also interviewed Joe Cullen and Chris Harris for the job.

JMV shared what inside information he had about the job search to his audience on Monday:
“I was told last week that Jim Schwartz was going to be ‘the head of the class’ in regards to the DC search, but they are interviewing anyone that has ever been a DC in the NFL before. I don’t blame them.”
Whoever takes over the reigns for the Colts defense will have a lot to build on after another top 10 statistical defense with perhaps the best playmaking LB in the league in Darius Leonard.
