INDIANAPOLIS — A fire at an east side apartment complex left three firefighters injured, over a dozen people displaced, and a bad day for a few pets.

Firefighters were called to the Stone Lake Apartments around 8 o’clock Saturday night. The Indianapolis Fire Department says all 12 apartment units were affected by the fire, but no one who lives in the apartments was hurt.

Firefighters managed to get 15 people out, including 6 children. Two dogs were also rescued, but one cat did pass away.

One firefighter fell through an upstairs apartment unit, injuring his wrists. Two other firefighters were also injured while putting out the fire.

Investigators aren’t sure what caused the fire at the Stone Lake, but one person did tell fire crews that they had recently reported electrical problems to apartment management.
