This weekend the world witnessed another act of anti-Semitism.

Saturday a British national took four people hostage inside a Texas synagogue. The terrorist incident took place at Congregation Beth Israel in Colleyville. The man was heard via Facebook livestream demanding the release of Aafia Siddiqui, a Pakistani neuroscientist suspected of having ties to Al Qaeda who was convicted of trying to kill U.S. Army officers in Afghanistan.

The standoff lasted 10 hours ending with the FBI SWAT team rushing into the building and killing the captor. The victims were released unharmed.

Late Sunday police in Manchester, England announced that two teenagers were in custody in connection with the standoff.

Rabbi Ben Sendrow of Carmel’s Congregation Shaarey Tefilla, joined Tony Katz Monday morning to discuss the FBI’s original response, how houses of worship can protect themselves, and more.
