MICHIGAN CITY, Ind. — A Michigan City man charged with murder is accused of killing his roommate by poisoning her with windshield washer fluid.

Thomas Holifield, 59, is charged in the June 1 death of 64-year-old Pamela Keltz. Keltz died of methanol poisoning, according to The Times of Northwest Indiana.

Court papers say Holifield confessed to repeatedly spiking Keltz’s soda bottles because he felt she was disrespecting him by disapproving of his heavy drinking.

The court documents say Holifield first tried to poison Keltz by putting eye drops in a cup she used for soda, but then switched to windshield washer fluid.
