MARION, Ind. — A dog that disappeared in Texas nearly three years ago has been reunited with her family after she was found more than 1,100 miles away in Indiana.

Daisy, a mixed-breed rescue dog, got loose and disappeared from the Skelton family home in Sugar Land in Feb. 2019, reports KPRC-TV in Houston.

The Skeltons were heartbroken but told KPRC they never gave up hope that Daisy was still alive somewhere.

Last week, Daisy was found at the back door of Tiffany Clay’s home in Marion, Indiana.

Tiffany Clay told KPRC that Daisy was just “wandering around” her backyard and when they opened the back door, she went right into the house.

The Clays took Daisy to a veterinarian who scanned her microchip, which linked her back to the Skeltons.

“I still can’t believe it. I don’t think I’ll believe it until I have her in my arms,” Daisy’s owner, Katrina Skelton, told KPRC.

The Skeltons took a 16-hour road trip to Indiana on Sunday and have been reunited with Daisy.
