INDIANAPOLIS — To help college football fans get to Indianapolis ahead of the College Football Playoff National Championship, Delta Airlines is offering three one-time, nonstop flights to the Circle City.

The University of Alabama and the University of Georgia will square off in Monday’s game, delivering a rematch of the SEC championship game. That game ended with a 41 – 24 Alabama victory.

The flights will depart from Birmingham, Huntsville, and Savannah on Saturday — just in time for the weekend’s fan festivities in downtown Indy. Return flights are scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 11, the day after the championship game.

“Delta literally has its eye on the ball with this one-time service opportunity for fans wanting to come join the excitement and fun rivalry in Indy that is sure to energize this much-hoped-for rematch of two titan college football teams,” said Indianapolis Airport Authority Executive Director Mario Rodriguez.

The City of Indianapolis expects more than 100,000 fans to arrive in the days leading up to Monday’s game at Lucas Oil Stadium.
