TERRE HAUTE, Ind. — Terre Haute police are investigating after a body was found at the bottom of a 20-foot-hole.
Officers found the body Saturday afternoon near the intersection of Sixth and Margaret Streets, reports WTWO.
The hole is thought to be an old well.
Police are working to identify the body, which they believe is a male. Investigators believe the body has been in the hole for quite some time.
Police are looking into what happened and an autopsy has been scheduled.
