MAYFIELD, Ky.–A devastating tornado may have been on the ground for more than 200 miles, possibly killing at least 70 people in Kentucky. Indiana’s Task force One sent firefighters, police officers and even do9gs to help with search and rescue operations.

The group left Indiana for Kentucky on a six and a half hour trip Saturday evening.

Fifteen team members are from the Indianapolis Fire Department (IFD); four team members are from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD); and eight are Civilian team members, said a news release from Task force One.

The remaining team members represent the Speedway Fire Dept.; Wayne Twp. FD; Avon FD; Bargersville FD; Crown Point FD; Vincennes FD; Plainfield FD; Fishers FD; Decatur Twp. FD; Noblesville FD; Greenwood FD; Zionsville FD; Lafayette FD; Carmel FD; Lebanon FD; and Columbus FD.

The team also includes four drivers and two mechanics and three search dogs from Task Force One: Jake, Eddie and Virgil. The dogs specialize in Live Canine Search and Human Remains Detection.
