KOKOMO, Ind. — Two men from Indianapolis are in custody and a third man is still on the run as police investigate the robbery of an armored truck in Kokomo.

Keith Martin and James Alexander-the-third are in jail on warrants issued out of Howard County. Edwin Sims is still at large, say investigators. All three are accused of holding up the driver of the armored vehicle while the driver’s partner was inside a building servicing an ATM in mid-November.

They stole some cash from the truck and then took off.

Martin and Alexander were arrested in Indianapolis this week. As for Sims — police say he has ties to Louisville and has arrest warrants out in both Marion County and Hendricks County.

Online court records show the Hendricks County case involves a January 2020 charge of aggravated battery, and that Sims was released from jail in March after paying a $50,000 surety bond. He failed to appear for a hearing in Hendricks Circuit Court on Oct. 18, and his bond was revoked.
