STATEWIDE–There will be cooler temperatures and the possibility of snow this week across Indiana.

“We’re going to have some more winter-like temperatures as compared to Sunday. Look for high temperatures only into the upper 30s, maybe lower 40s on Monday and Tuesday,” said Jason Puma, meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Indianapolis.

Puma says there is a small chance for some snow on Tuesday across the state.

“Some areas could see some small accumulation. I expect some places to get around an inch or less Tuesday night. We’re only talking about a 20% chance, but that continued cold is expected to persist,” said Puma.

Puma believes the northern part of the state could see some “lake-effect” snow, but the central part of the state could also get some snow. He expects the best places for that to happen are along the I-70 corridor.

“Highs on Tuesday will be only near 29. As the week goes on, we get a little warmer on Wednesday. Chances for rain return on Thursday. This time of year, you’re probably going to have some frost on your windows. You could wake up on Wednesday morning with a dust of snow on your car. Remember to brush that snow off so you have good visibility,” said Puma.

A warm-up is likely later in the week. Highs in some places could be in the 60s by Friday.
