SOUTH BEND, Ind. — Two people were shot in South Bend on Thanksgiving, and one of them is dead.
The call came into police from a “shot spotter”, says South Bend Police Capt. Jason Biggs.
The officers arrived at the home just east of the South Bend Airport and found two people shot. One of those people was a woman who was taken to the hospital and is stable. The other was a man who was pronounced dead at the scene.
“It’s always heartbreaking anytime somebody is killed,” said South Bend Police Division Chief Tim Lancaster. “It’s never a good thing and on a holiday you know it’s even worse because it really tears at families.”
Investigators say they are still looking for the shooter, but that this is likely an isolated incident.
