INDIANAPOLIS–Critically acclaimed folk singer Todd Snider will perform at “The Vogue” in Indianapolis November 18.

The doors open at 7 pm. The concert begins at 8 pm.

Snider released his new album “First Agnostic Church of Hope and Wonder” earlier this year. In that album, he says he created his own brand of funk-inspired by Parliament and James Brown.

“I have always thought of myself as an Agnostic because I hope there is a God and I wonder if there is. I try to live like there is, but I don’t know,” said Snider.

Snider said the format for his concert will be relatively informal.

“I take requests a lot and talk a lot. I tell a lot of stories. I’ll just play whatever people want. If they don’t yell for songs, I’ll just play the ones I want,” said Snider.

Snider has also worked with Jimmy Buffett and John Prine. Snider has often called Prine his “musical hero”. Prine died August 7, 2020 of complications caused by COVID-19.

“They both gave me backstage lessons. I think the thing you really need to learn when you’re young is how to not be a d*** backstage. They were great at taking on the pressure of the show and not letting it turn them into something they’re not. It can happen to so many people because they get tired, but I never saw John or Jimmy even come close to that,” said Snider.

He says you can expect a “one-of-a-kind night of modern folk music.”

The staff at “The Vogue” says all attendees are required to have received a negative COVID-19 test within 72-hours prior to entering the venue or be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
