VEVAY, Ind. — Kat Von D is moving to Indiana.

The tattoo artist, reality star, musician and entrepreneur announced on Instagram that she is closing her tattoo parlor in Los Angeles, and moving to Switzerland County in southern Indiana.

Von D’s shop was the scene for the television show “L.A. Ink” on TLC.

A year ago, she bought the historic Benjamin Schenk Mansion in Vevay for less than $2 million. The building, which has 35 rooms, was built in 1874 and had been recently used as a Bed and Breakfast.

“The more time we spend out there (in Indiana), we realize we feel more at home there than we do here in LA,” Von Drachenberg said in the social media post.

She says once renovations are done, she plans on eventually opening a private studio in Indiana.
