LAWRENCE, Ind. — A person shot at a gas station in Lawrence is in the hospital in critical condition, say police.

Lawrence Police Department officers responded to a Thorntons convenience store along Pendleton Pike at Shadeland Avenue around 5:30 a.m. on reports of a person shot.

When they got there, police found the gas station clerk with a gunshot wound to the head. The clerk was taken to a nearby hospital where he remains in critical condition.

Investigators are unsure of what led to the shooting. The victim’s name is not being released yet.
