INDIANAPOLIS — A teenager is under arrest for the fatal shooting of a woman on Indianapolis’ near east-side.
Antonia Reiner had just moved to the Windsor Park neighborhood with her husband two years ago. Neighbors said they became fixtures in the neighborhood very quickly.
“She dove right into the neighborhood as a volunteer,” said Martha Latta, who knew Reiner well, to WISH-TV. “She helped with events in the neighborhood. She was really supportive of all the projects that are happening in the neighborhood. She was a mother, grandmother, and she had a grandbaby on the way.”
Police say it was a burglary early Sunday morning that ended with Reiner being shot. The Windsor Park neighborhood sits on the edge of some of the most violent neighborhoods in the city, and violence has skipped over the area for several years.
Police are not releasing the name of the teenager accused of shooting Reiner.
