INDIANAPOLIS — An IMPD officer was taken to the hospital after their parked patrol car was rear-ended by a flatbed truck Tuesday morning.

The officer complained of neck and knee pain, according to WISH-TV’s Kevin Ratermann.

According to IMPD, two officers were in the middle of a traffic stop on southbound Post Road between 25th Street and I-70 when the crash happened.

One IMPD officer was sitting in the car and another was outside of the car they had pulled over.

The driver of the flatbed truck tried to pass a semi on the right side, causing them to hit the patrol car, according to WISH-TV’s Kevin Ratermann.

The officer standing outside the car and the driver of the flatbed truck were not hurt.
