INDIANAPOLIS — Indiana National Guard troops are assisting at an Indianapolis hospital due to an increase in COVID-19 cases.
Troops have been deployed to Ascension St. Vincent Hospital on the city’s northwest side, according to Master Sgt. Jeff Lowry with the Indiana National Guard, to assist healthcare workers with anything they need. In a statement, St. Vincent says it is “very thankful to the state for providing extra support.”
Troops had previously been deployed to Clark Memorial Health in Jeffersonville.
Across the state, there are currently 2,279 Hoosiers hospitalized due to COVID-19.
