TERRE HAUTE, Ind. — A man has been arrested after firing shots on the campus of Indiana State University.

The shooting happened around 4 a.m. Friday when nearby Terre Haute Police Department officers heard gunshots around 7th and Cherry near Federal Hall.

Police quickly found and arrested the shooter, Yantre Edwards.

Police said Edwards was standing in a parking lot and shooting his gun, but police don’t believe he actually had a target.

One of the bullets did go through a nearby building window. A janitor was working inside that building and near the window but was not hurt.

Edwards is facing charges of criminal recklessness, possession of marijuana, and driving while intoxicated.
