When asked by a reporter Tuesday if President Joe Biden thinks he made any mistakes in the US withdrawal from Afghanistan, White House Press Secretary “Peppermint Patty” performed her now-infamous creepy lizard tongue move and then proceeded to blame others for the administration’s egregious errors.
Reporter: “The President says that the U.S. should learn from its mistakes. Does the President have any mistakes that he thinks he made during this withdrawal in Afghanistan that he wants to learn from?”
Peppermint Patty: “I would say that the President has been pretty clear that we all had an expectation that the Afghan National Security Forces would fight harder at the end, would fight against the Taliban. We all had an expectation that President Ghani would not flee the country. Those were not expectations that were clearly not met. So you can spend a lot of time looking in the rearview mirror. What our focus [is on now] is moving forward on our diplomatic effort settling Afghan refugees and others who are coming into the United States, [and] doing that in a very thorough and clear way. And also getting [them] settled in communities. That’s what our focus has to be on.”
Democrats love to tell others what their focus should be on.
We’ve had 20 years of experience with the Afghan military and its leadership. Military commanders and intelligence experts at the Pentagon knew that Afghanistan would fall into the hands of the Taliban almost immediately. Clearly learning from experience is not the Biden administration’s strong suit.
“Lizard Tongue” was also asked Tuesday about criticism the president has received from Gold Star Families for being disrespectful and looking at his watch during the dignified transfer of the 13 Marines who were killed in Afghanistan as a result of Biden’s incompetence.
