Millions of Americans in six states were devastated by the destruction left in the wake of Hurricane Ida, one of the most powerful hurricanes ever to hit the U.S. mainland.

Midwest Food Bank is an organization founded for the purpose of providing assistance and food-filled relief boxes to those in need within 24 hours of a natural disaster. The charity currently distributes over $32 million worth of food to over 2,000 non-profits around the globe each and every month.

Tuesday afternoon, WIBC’s Hammer and Nigel Show spoke with John Whittaker from the Midwest Food Bank about what Hoosiers can do to lend their support to those affected by the disaster.
