WASHINGTON — Pfizer’s coronavirus vaccine is getting full approval from the FDA.
It’s the first COVID vaccine to be approved by regulators.  Pfizer developed the shots in partnership with BioNTech, a German biotech company.  The Acting FDA Commissioner hailed the vaccine’s approval.
Dr. Janet Woodcock called today’s announcement a “milestone.”  The Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine has been given to millions of Americans under emergency use authorization since last December.
Individuals 12 and older are able to get the shots.
