WASHINGTON–Congressman Jim Banks is angry with U.S. Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, and says she threatened him in a recent video. Pelosi recently rejected Banks and Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) as members of the House Select Committee on January 6.
“Two of them were outrageous. Probably, well we’ll see what the Committee finds out about them. But, they weren’t gonna be on the Committee,” said Pelosi.

Banks said in a statement released by his camp that what Pelosi said was a threat.
“Today, Speaker Pelosi threatened to investigate her political opponents without pretext. That is an abuse of power and if she follows through she needs to be held accountable. It is banana republic style politics that doesn’t belong in America. If Democrats had integrity, they would condemn this behavior at home with the same enthusiasm with which they condemn it abroad,” said Banks.
Pelosi, in a video from “The 19th Represents Summit”, said Banks and Jordan would never have been part of the Committee, regardless of their decision to reject Joe Biden as president.
“There would be antics and clowns andnot serious about this and still participants in the ‘big lie’,” she said.
Banks called on Democrats to condemn Pelosi.
“They won’t. Speaker Pelosi used this playbook two times against President Trump and her party was silent. Now she is targeting Republicans in Congress too,” he said. “Never in history has there been a Speaker as partisan as Nancy Pelosi. She has harmed Congress’s unity and the functioning of American democracy more than any single politician ever.”
