WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Purdue football wide receiver TJ Sheffield has been charged with battery against a public safety official.
Prosecutors said Sheffield bit Darcy Felix while she was on duty.
Sheffield has been participating in fall team practices. His status with the team moving forward has not been released.
Purdue Athletics told WLFI, that their football program is aware of the situation and has been handling the matter internally based on the information available.
The probable cause affidavit was filed on June 30. Sheffield is scheduled to appear in front of a jury on September 22nd.
