INDIANAPOLIS — Indy Metro Police detectives have arrested a man for firing shots inside a Walmart on the city’s south side.

IMPD officers were called to a disturbance at the Walmart on US 31 South at around 7 p.m. on July 29.

Investigators believe there was a disagreement between several people that led to two of those people pulling out guns. One of the individuals fired multiple shots, none of which hit anyone.

A 16-year-old boy who police believed had a stolen handgun was arrested at the scene.

Detectives identified the suspected shooter as 21-year-old Kevonta Anderson.

Anderson was later arrested for criminal recklessness and carrying a handgun without a license.

IMPD on Facebook credited the community for its help identifying the suspects and said the help was “instrumental” in the arrests.
