INDIANAPOLIS–After another weekend of violence where several people were killed, the Indy TenPoint Coalition is trying to rally the community to address a problem that only seems to be getting worse.

Reverend Charles Harrison, president of the Indy TenPoint Coalition, is putting on a peace march at 6 pm Monday. It will start outside Barnes United Methodist Church at 900 W. 30th street.

Harrison is the Senior Pastor of Barnes United Methodist Church and has been in the ministry for 30 years.

“This is the madness that Indianapolis is dealing with. The violence is only getting worse and worse. We’re going to have to come together to deal with the hearts of individuals who continue to have a disregard for the sanctity of human life and use violence as a means to settle their conflicts,” said Harrison in a video he posted on Twitter.

Participants at the peace march are supposed to march up West 30th Street before circling back down 29th Street. Everyone is invited to attend.

The city of Indianapolis is on pace to set a record for homicides and murders in a single year.
