TERRE HAUTE, Ind. — A Terre Haute teenager charged in the fatal shooting of a 15-year-old girl has been sent to adult court.
17-year-old Cody Scherb is charged with theft of a firearm and dangerous possession of a firearm. He was not who shot and killed Chloe Carroll on July 23.
Carroll was in the back seat of a vehicle at a gas station when she was shot. She later died that morning at a hospital.
The 15-year-old who pulled the trigger is facing charges of murder, attempted murder, aggravated battery, criminal recklessness and possession of a firearm. According to The Tribune-Star, Vigo County Prosecutor Terry Modesitt said he is seeking a waiver for the teenager as well, but that process could take several days or weeks.
