COLUMBUS, Ind. — A Tennessee man was arrested in Columbus, Indiana after he was caught stealing calculators and over-the-counter medicine at a Walmart.
Columbus Police say Gregg Lestingi put graphing calculators in a mailbox, then only paid for the mailbox at the self-checkout. He was caught by security, and police were called.
In the parking lot, officers found more calculators, plus the medicine, in Lestingi’s car.
Overall, he had 37 stolen calculators and 60 boxes of meds. The stolen items were worth a total of $8,500.
Lestingi is now in the Bartholomew County Jail, charged with theft and possession of a controlled substance.
