INDIANAPOLIS — Indianapolis Colts Head Coach Frank Reich has tested positive for COVID-19.
General Manager Chris Ballard made that announcement Monday morning during a press conference.
“It sucks,” Ballard said. “I think the earliest he can be back is (next) Monday, but we’ll see.”
Reich is fully vaccinated. Ballard says the fact that Reich is showing no symptoms and feels good proves the vaccine works.
“It’s a shame in our country right now that we’ve politicized something that is good and that is going to help the entire country, but it’s where we’re at. And we just need to continue to push forward.”
Ballard says the team, and the league, know that there will be breakthrough cases along the way, and says he “doesn’t want this to be a negative in terms of people running away from getting vaccinated.”
